My favorite lipstick formulas

Happy lipstick month! If you haven't already entered my lipstick giveaway, make sure to check it out here- Let's get on with todays post. Lipstick formulas. I have picked out 6 very different formulas for you today, so there should be some for everyone. Lipstick formulas are very important to me, it determines how the lipstick feels on the lips, longivity and overall texture. I will link to the full reviews, when one is available. But some of these are fairly new to me, and haven't yet been reviewed. Sooo let's get started.

Nars audacious lipstick $32: This has a very creamy formula, yet it's not creamy to the point where it becomes so emollient that it comes right off. It sorta clings to the lips a bit, yet feels very light weight. Probably one of the most comfortable lipsticks I own. These have no scent to them at all. Making them the perfect lipstick for anyone who hates the feeling of wearing lipstick, and can't stand scents.

Gosh velvet touch lipsticks $14: these are creamy, emollient and buttery. They are not super long lasting. But they are very comfortable on the lips. They remind me of a very pigmented lip butter. So these are great if you have dry lips. I love these for an everyday lipstick. They have a slight Vanilla scent, but it's very subtle.

YSL rouge volupte shine $36: Is a sheer, hydrating yet light weight formula. They are very comfortable to wear and give a subtle shine to the lips. Although they are on the sheer side, the color does show up nicely on the lips. Sheer colorful formulas are more forgiving than opaque colorful formulas. So this is great if you want a pop of color but won't commit to full on bright lips. This has a sophisticated fruity scent, it's not overly sweet, it's more of a fresh fruity scent.

Bourjois rouge edition velvet $14: This is a liquid lipstick, that goes on creamy and dries Down semi matte. Yet it manages to not feel drying on my lips. It does not flake off or ball up on my lips. It's one of the most long wearing and comfortable liquid lipsticks I own. It does have a slight plastic scent to it, that goes away once it has dried.

ELF studio matte lipcolor $3: One of my favorite matte lipstick formulas. It feels almost like wearing a balm. It's not the most matte lipstick of all time, but it's matte enough for me. It doesn't really smell like much, but has a slightly sweet taste to it. Definately a great matte lipstick formula.

GOSH forever lipshine $13: This has a super interesting formula. It goes on creamy, like a really creamy lip butter, only more pigmented. Then it start drying down on your lips. It doesn't go matte or completely dry. But it does ensure that the color stays on your lips for hours, all while feeling comfortable and light weight. It's a very interesting formula, and I haven't tried anything quite like it before. It has a strong but pleasant Vanilla scent to it, that I really like.

So that was a look at some of my favorite lipstick formulas, I tried to include both high end and budget friendly products, so there should be something that will fit your budget as well.. I have always been a sucker for creamy, emollient lipsticks. But lately I have been obsessed with anything that dries down and becomes budge proof and kiss proof. I hope you liked this post. What are some of your favorite lipstick formulas? Let me know in the comments section.

  3. I love a matte lipcolor. I don't like it greasy at all and I don't really love scents in my lipstick. :)
